New On-Line Tutorials

We are developing a whole new set of tutorials, with full sound and streaming video, from our web site. These tutorials will cover an increasing number of topics in AGROBASE Generation II. They are designed to help new users quickly gain a basic competence in using the software, and current users increase their proficiency. These tutorials would be especially relevant for new staff replacing current users of the software in an organization. Please take a few moments to view the new tutorial on how to create an experiment in Generation II (http://www.agronomix.mb.ca/tutorials/). Any feedback on viewing these tutorials would be welcome.

The latest addition is from Professor Maryke Labuschagne, Head of the Plant Breeding Department, University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa.

Professor Labuschagne uses AGROBASE to train post-graduate students in plant breeding.

AGROBASE Generation II SQL-Server Version

Our new SQL-Server version of AGROBASE Generation II has been released as a beta for final testing, and we expect a general release in July. We are excited about this new version, which offers considerably more processing power for our users worldwide.

SQL will make our system faster and more reliable. The data migration tool is intended to provide a smooth transition to the MS-SQL server database. Our internal tests have shown some significant speed gains in data querying and viewing.
